Welcome to Genome

Introduction

The Myler Lab is headed by Dr Peter Myler, who leads a team of Molecular Biologist and Bioinformaticians working on various aspects of genomic analysis in a number of parasitic Protozoan organisms. In the lab, we employ a number of  approaches to study the genomic organization and regulation of gene expression in these species. Much of our work is done in collaboration with labs and individuals working both within the US, and in countries around the world, including regions where the diseases caused by these pathogens are endemic

Projects

Sequencing and genome analysis of the  Leishmania major Friedlin genome is being undertaken in the Myler lab in collaboration with Welcome Trust Sanger Institute, Focruz, and the Euleish Consortium

Sequencing and genome analysis of the  Trypanosoma cruzi genome is being undertaken in the Myler lab in collaboration with The Institute for Genome Research, and The Karolinska Institute.

Targets selection for the Structural Genomics of Pathogenic Protozoa Project, which is aimed at developing new structural genomics methods, discovering new protein folds, and providing structures for medicinal drug design

We have also included data from other institutes' sequencing efforts and provided links to the appropriate websites where detailed information can be found.
